Mountain Unicycling = Muni

MUni" or "muni" is an abbreviation for mountain unicycling. MUnis have many of the same components as trials unicycles, but have a few key differences. Usually, the tyre diameters on mountain unicycles are either 24 or 26 inches which  allows the rider to more easily roll over obstacles such as roots and rocks. 29 inch MUnis are also used but are usually used for longer trips, or just a challenge. The seat is also thicker and more comfortable on MUnis to compensate for the rough terrain. Brakes are frequently used for steep descents.

A skilled MUni rider will be able to ride any terrain that a mountain biker can ride. Our group regularly meets for MUni rides at Culloden woods and Learnie Red Rock
